   MRP and Protein Powder Recipes  

 

 

Please enjoy one of the many delicious recipes listed in this section of the campus cafeteria. Many of these recipes were created by readers like yourself, others by searching the internet for something tasty, while others by one of the FitnessCollege.com professors. This page will continuously be updated with tasty new recipes, so check back often.

 

Coffee Shake
(a favorite recipe of FitnessCollege.com’s Vernon)

Ingredients:
Mix 1 packet of AST Ny-Tro Pro 40 Vanilla Meal with:
1 cup of soy or skim milk
5 ice cubes
1 cup of water
1 spoonful of instant coffee (regular or my favorite, hazelnut)

Tastes like a gourmet concoction!
(this also works well with a chocolate protein packet)

 

Peanut Butter Chocolate Truffle
Ingredients:
Mix 1 packet of AST Ny-Tro Pro 40 Chocolate Meal
1 teaspoon creamy peanut butter
16 ounces nonfat milk
½ cup ice cubes

 

Peanut Brittle Protein Shake
(a favorite recipe of FitnessCollege.com’s Charlie)

This is a delicious favorite I discovered quite by accident as I sat staring at my "boring" vanilla protein powder and wanting something sweet. This mimics peanut brittle only in taste; it won't send your blood sugar soaring.

Ingredients:
1 vanilla packet of AST Ny-Tro Pro 40
1 tbsp sugar-free instant butterscotch pudding mix
1 tbsp natural peanut butter, chunky
8 oz. low-fat milk
8 oz. cold water
3-6 ice cubes

Directions:
Add all ingredients to blender, blend, and serve. I like to add the peanut butter in last so it stays a little chunky, just like the peanut brittle it is replacing.

 

Cinnamon Roll Protein Shake
(a favorite recipe of FitnessCollege.com’s Charlie)

Ingredients:
1 vanilla packet of AST Nytro-Pro 40
1 tbsp sugar-free instant vanilla pudding
¼ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp imitation vanilla (or ¼ tsp extract)
1 packet artificial sweetener
A few dashes of Butter Buds
8 oz. cold water
8 oz. soy milk (or low-fat milk)
3 ice cubes

Directions:
Add all ingredients to blender, whip, and serve.

 

Chocolate Almond Delight
Ingredients:
10-12 oz. cold water
15 raw almonds
½ tsp. coconut extract
1 packet of AST Ny-Tro Pro 40 Chocolate
Stevia to taste (optional)
3-5 ice cubes (optional)
(first, blend the almonds until creamy smooth in ½ the water, then add the rest of the ingredients)

 

Protein-Carb Almond Blast
Ingredients:
Mix 1 packet of AST Ny-Tro Pro 40 Vanilla Meal or other MRP with:
10-12 oz of skim milk
½ cup of dry oatmeal
½ cup of raisins
12 shredded almonds
1 tbsp of peanut butter

It's like pudding!

 

For the Cheesecake Lovers
High Protein Cheesecake

Ingredients:
¾ cup of fat free cottage cheese
½ scoop of protein powder (vanilla flavor works best)
1 packet of Splenda (optional)
1 tbsp sugar free instant pudding mix (cheesecake or vanilla flavor)
4-5 tbsp of fat free milk or water (helps thin out mixture)

Directions:
Combine all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and mix for about 1 minute until smooth.

Top with sliced almonds, strawberries, or nothing at all.

Chill for 20 minutes. Enjoy!
