I began my weight training after an injury ended my professional tennis career. During rehab I realized that I could stay physically fit doing something other than playing tennis. For the past 12 years, I have been studying different exercise routines and nutrition plans.
I am currently studying for the American Council on Exercise (A.C.E.) Personal Training Certification.
Training philosophy: Train with a purpose or don’t train at all!! Whether it is to gain weight, lose weight, “tone” or whatever…don’t lose sight of why you are putting in all of the long hours and hard work, otherwise you are shorting yourself of your potential.
Inspiration: A quote from an old Queensryche song says it best, “Don’t get caught in between the man in the chair and the man that’s in your dreams...melt the two men into one.”
Favorite body part: Legs
Favorite exercise: Squats and weighted dips (there's just an indescribable rush I get when people stop their workout to see if I can really lift all that weight)
Favorite cheat food: Mexican
Favorite artist(s) to workout to: Static X, Linkin Park, and the Genitorturers
Favorite "late-night" cardio music: Vanessa Daou and Thievery Corporation
I has been studying and training for 20 years.
I am currently certified with the National Federation of Personal Trainers (N.F.P.T.).
Training philosophy: With knowledge, desire, execution, consistency, and faith we can all achieve things that we’ve only dreamed about. Train with great intensity, consistency, and purpose, and use the power of knowledge to get you to your goals in the most efficient manner!
Inspiration: For me it’s seeing my body change and develop. Part of my personal mission in life is to show others that they CAN change how their body looks, and that they don’t have to accept what someone else says about what they can and can’t do. This is true empowerment for people, and I enjoy seeing people change their bodies and their lives for the better.
Favorite body part: Upper pecs
Favorite exercise: Incline bench press
Favorite cheat food: Toss up between Apple Pie and Hawaiian Sweet Bread
Favorite artist(s) to workout to: DMX, Nelly, Metallica, AC/DC, DJ Micro, BT, Fred Hammond, and Kirk Franklin
Favorite "late-night" cardio music: Willie Nelson
I initially started working out in junior high in 1978 as a way to gain some size for football. As time progressed, I really liked the bodybuilding aspects of weight training, and began to notice how much better I felt physically, mentally, and emotionally when I was in good shape.
Training philosophy: I train using the MaxOT principles, using 4-6 rep working sets, 5 sets per body part, 2-3 minute rest between each set, training each body part once a week using a 5-day routine. No workout exceeds 45 minutes with supplementation of 300g AST VP2 protein per day, AST NAC 500, AST ALA-200, AST 3-Andro-Xtreme.
Inspiration: To push my genetic potential to its limits and see just how far my body can take me naturally. I am committed to this for the duration of my life.
Favorite body part: The muscle I am about to workout.
Favorite exercise: Deadlifts (b/c I can do over 2x my body weight)
Favorite cheat food: None--I eat lots of fresh fruit to satisfy my cravings for sweet things and eat starches at all meals (in moderation)
Favorite artist(s) to workout to: Pantera
Favorite "late-night" cardio music: Dead Can Dance and Massive Attack
